Marc- James Manor
From the Garden
Bellingham enjoys color in the garden year round.

Marc-James Manor named the surrounding grounds,
so often a tradition in England.
Neal's Wood seemed so suitable -- at one time this lovely sylvan spot was a virgin stand of Northwest native trees.

Time and development have taken their toll on the surrounding  environment. The lovely stands of trees are gone, but the owners of Marc-James Manor had recreated the Northwest ambience by bordering the gardens with indigenous trees and shrubs.

The gardens next to the House were more structured
in style. Result -- a colorful mix of nature and art.

Visitors were often amazed at the variety of plants that grows in the Northwest.

Formal hedges framed in horticultural vignettes nestled among restored native woods and meadows.

Marc-James Manor gardens had a unique appearance
in this little corner of the world --native plants and trees added to the traditional English cottage garden plan.
